The Vespasian V.
Pella Medal
The Vespasian V. Pella Medal was given by Mrs. Pella to Benjamin Ferencz in 1958 as a special AIDP award. Each recipient is recognized as a champion of the international criminal justice and retains the medal for ten years and then transmits it to his or her selected successor from among the members of the AIDP-IAPL.

Jescheck Prize
The International Association of Penal Law together with the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Crime, Security and Law (Freiburg, Germany) have established the “Hans-Heinrich Jescheck Prize”.
The “Hans-Heinrich Jescheck Prize” shall be awarded on the occasion
of each International Congress of Penal Law, and/or of each World Conference of Penal Law, and/or of a special event organised by the International Association of Penal Law (AIDP-IAPL) or the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Crime, Security and Law (formerly the Max Planck Institut for Foreign and International Criminal Law).
The Hans-Heinrich Jescheck Award, established in 2009, recognizes a lifetime achievement of sustained innovative and outstanding research that has contributed significantly to the advancement of comparative, international, or supranational criminal law.

Siracusa Prize
The M. Cherif Bassiouni Siracusa Prize was established in 2009 by the International Association of Penal Law together with the Siracusa International Institute for Criminal Justice and Human Rights in order to grant the work (an individual monography, published as a book with ISBN) of a Young Penalist, member of the AIDP-IAPL, which constitutes an original contribution of great scientific value in penal law and which has been published the first time within the last 5 years.
